India Craft Project
Our partnership with The India Craft Project unites a collective of passionate individuals who share a common mission: to preserve cultural knowledge systems while redefining our engagement with India's traditional arts and artisans.
The India Craft Project's roots are deeply woven into the rural communities our founder, Saumya Pankaj, has encountered throughout India. Her journeys across six states, each with unique craft clusters, have brought her into the world of artisans, cultures, and crafts, leading to an array of research perspectives, challenges, stories, and profound learnings.
Today, our artisan partners are at the heart of our co-creative process, collectively forming the cherished TICP (The India Craft Project) family. Through this partnership, we aim to cherish and celebrate the wealth of India's traditional crafts, fostering a future where these traditions thrive and continue to inspire.
Ullavacharu Sweets
Our collaboration with Ulavacharu is an exciting journey into a brand that beautifully preserves traditions through the art of food. Ulavacharu comprises a network of four restaurants located in the heart of Silicon Valley, with an expanding presence, all driven by a mission to carry forward culinary traditions.
The founders, Latha and Lakshman, bring with them a rich heritage from the coastal district of Andhra Pradesh in South India. Growing up in large, multi-generational households afforded them a unique opportunity to intimately observe and master the age-old culinary techniques and the traditional recipes that often remain hidden gems. This exposure, combined with their unwavering passion to preserve these recipes and traditions, led to the establishment of Ulavacharu in 2014.
Through this collaboration, we are thrilled to join hands with Ulavacharu in their commitment to celebrating and sharing these time-honored recipes, allowing them to flourish and inspire in the modern world. Together, we are dedicated to upholding the legacy of authentic, tradition-rich cuisine.
Folkulture
Folkulture, our partner in this creative journey, embarked on its path with a shared vision: crafting a design-focused lifestyle brand steeped in culture and heritage. Their inspiring journey has been guided by the time-honored traditions of India. Their skilled artisans breathe life into these traditions with an unwavering commitment to exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
Deeply rooted in the heart of India, Folkulture, as Chaiti Jain, Co-founder of Folkulture, describes, discovers inspiration in every nook and cranny of this diverse and vibrant nation. Their promise is to deliver products that stand the test of time, with each creation carrying their personal touch, filled with love and elegance.
Together, Folkulture and Story Camala are delighted to share the belief that our surroundings matter and to bring these Indian products to the US market, where they'll infuse homes with a touch of India's rich heritage.
